ISBA is pleased to call for submissions for several honors, including the 2017 DeGroot Prize. The deadline for submissions is June 15, 2017.
Please prepare nominations as a single pdf file following the convention LASTNAME_FIRSTNAME.pdf so the file name corresponds to the nominee and then email them to degreoot@bayesian.org, respectively, provided the file is less than 25MB. For files larger than 25MB, contact Xinyi Xu at xinyi@stat.osu.edu to make appropriate alternative arrangements.
The DeGroot Prize is awarded to the author or authors of published books in Statistical Science. Award winning books will be textbooks or monographs concerned with fundamental issues of statistical inference, decision theory and/or statistical applications, and will be chosen based on their novelty, thoroughness, timeliness, and importance of their intellectual scope. All books published no earlier than five years prior to the year of the competition may be considered. There are no restrictions on the publisher or country of publication. The prize includes a check for US$1500 and the winner(s) will be announced at the ISBA 2018 World Meeting in Edinburgh, UK, Sun June 24, 2018 – Fri June 29, 2018.
