Advertisement for the post of Assistant Professor
The Department of Economic Sciences at the Indian Institute of Technology Kanpur (IITK) invites applications for a tenure-track position at the Assistant Professor level to begin in June/July 2018. We encourage applications from all areas of Economics, however, special considerations will be given to candidates specializing in Game Theory, Mechanism Design, Development Economics, Classical Econometrics, Bayesian Econometrics, Transportation Economics, Applied Econometrics, Macroeconomics, Trade Theory, Industrial Organization, Statistics and Operations Research.
We are particularly interested in motivated and research-oriented candidates who are about to complete their Ph.D. in 2018 or have completed their Ph.D. in the last 3 years.

Department of Economic Sciences
The Department of Economic Sciences at IITK is the first Economics department in the entire IIT system in India. We currently have 13 regular rank faculty and 1 honorary faculty and over 20 graduate students. Besides the Ph.D. program, the department currently offers a 4 year B.S. in Economic Sciences with an optional 1 year M.S. Admission to the B.S. program is done through the Joint Entrance Examination (Advanced), one of the most competitive exams in the world.
