EFaB Treasurer
Candidate Statement 2023
It is my pleasure to be nominated for the EFaB Treasurer role. I hope my contribution to the role will be beneficial to the members of the EFaB section and the wider ISBA community.

I was first trained as a Bayesian econometrician by Hiroki Tsurumi at Rutgers University. My enthusiasm for Bayesian continued when I furthered my studies in a PhD at University of Sydney with Boris Choy who was one of Sir Adrian Smith’s PhD students. That made me on a big Bayesian tree under a great statistician where I am proud of.

My current specialization is Econometrics and Statistics with emphasis on Bayesian approach and applications in economics, finance, health science, and social science. My research interests also lie in the fields of computational statistics using Monte Carlo methods, financial analytics, time series and forecasting, statistical data analytics, skew distributions, copula modeling, robust quantile regression, and GPU-based parallel computation.

I am now a Senior Lecturer in analytics/statistics at Auckland University of Technology. Before that, I was a research fellow at Thailand Development Research Institute and a Lecturer in Statistics at University of Canterbury, New Zealand. Prior to that, I obtained a PhD in Econometrics from University of Sydney, Australia, and two MAs in Economics from Rutgers University, USA, and Chulalongkorn University, Thailand. I have also been a visiting research advisor at Thailand Development Research Institute.

I have been involved in organizing several workshops and conferences that helped build up my research network with collaborators in various areas and countries. If I am elected as a Treasurer for the EFaB section, I believe my prior experience and skills in project management will make the most of the role to render benefits to the section and ISBA members.
