Candidate Statement 2023
Currently, I am an assistant professor at Università Cattolica del Sacro Cuore in Milan. I obtained a joint Ph.D. from the University of Milan-Bicocca and Università della Svizzera italiana in 2020. Under the guidance of Prof. Antonietta Mira and Prof. Michele Guindani, my research focused on applying Bayesian mixtures to nested data, hypothesis testing, and intrinsic dimension estimation. Subsequently, I spent two years as a Postdoctoral Scholar at the University of California, Irvine, working with Prof. Babak Shahbaba on Bayesian models for neuroscience data.

Attending my first ISBA event in 2018 was an eye-opening experience, as it exposed me to fellow researchers of great talent, sharing common interests and ideas. The personal connections I forged during ISBA and j-ISBA events have played a crucial role in my professional journey, providing support and encouragement to persevere in my job.
I am grateful for those connections and committed to giving back to a society that has significantly marked my professional development. My primary goal is to sustain and continue j-ISBA efforts to assist early career researchers who may face isolation, helping them establish meaningful bonds and create an environment of collaboration, inclusion, and mutual support.

I believe j-ISBA's initiatives have a profound impact beyond simple academic networking, as they are instrumental in bringing together young Bayesian scholars and contributing to developing a healthier and more open academic environment. It would be an honor to actively contribute to this community and play a role in its continued growth.
