The Biomedical Data Science division in the Yong Loo Lin School of Medicine at the National University of Singapore (NUS) led by Prof. Maria De Iorio invites applications for multiple Research Fellow positions in Statistics. The division focuses on methodological and computational contributions in Statistics, in particular within the Bayesian framework. The group works in close contact with clinical and biomedical researchers across NUS and the Agency for Science, Technology and Research (A*STAR). Motivating applications arise from cohort studies such as GUSTO (Growing Up in Singapore Towards healthy Outcomes) and S-PRESTO (Singapore PREconception Study of Long-Term Maternal and Child Outcome), electronic medical records and the NUS Human Potential Translational Research Programme. Appointments will be on a 2 or 3 year contract in the first instance, with the possibility of extension.

Qualifications
The applicant should:
– hold a PhD in Statistics or closely related field (essential)*
– possess a good knowledge of Bayesian inference and Bayesian computational tools such as MCMC and SMC (desirable)
– programming skills in R and one of C/C+ or equivalent
– experience of working in a research environment
*Exceptional candidates without a PhD can be considered for research assistantships and PhD studentships.

Remuneration will be commensurate with the candidate’s qualifications and experience.
Informal enquiries and CVs can be sent to Dr. Willem van den Boom (vandenboom@nus.edu.sg).
