Position description

The Department of Epidemiology, Biostatistics and Occupational Health in the School of Population and Global Health (Faculty of Medicine and Health Sciences) at McGill University, invites applications for an Assistant or Associate Professor of Biostatistics (Tenure Track).

McGill University is one of Canada’s leading universities, and the Department of Epidemiology, Biostatistics and Occupational Health is home to one of the largest concentrations of doctoral-level biostatisticians, with internationally recognized research programmes in topics such as such as Bayesian methods, big data, causal inference, hierarchical modelling, longitudinal data, risk prediction, privacy protection, spatial models, and time series analysis. The Department is one of the top academic units for biomedical statistics in the world and offers a vibrant research environment.

Job Duties

The successful candidate will be expected to conduct a strong research program and to supervise graduate trainees in Biostatistics. They will also be required to teach biostatistics to graduate students in the Masters and PhD programs offered by our Department. The successful candidate will have potential and proven ability to develop an internationally recognized research program in Biostatistics, a demonstrated ability to obtain grants for their own research, and to contribute to the building of successful research programs.

Qualifications and Education Requirements

Candidates must:
• Have a doctorate in statistics, biostatistics, or data science and relevant research experience in Biostatistics;
• Demonstrate evidence of research productivity (peer-reviewed publications) and a strong commitment to excellence in teaching.
