The Department of Statistics, Pontificia Universidad Católica de Chile, announces the opening of one tenure-track position at the Assistant Professor level, beginning August 1, 2019. Candidates should have a doctoral degree in Statistics, Actuarial Science, Data Science or a related field and exhibit experience in both research and teaching. Appointees will be expected to pursue a vigorous research program and to teach three undergraduate/graduate courses per year in Spanish (with idiomatic support if required); doctoral courses can be taught in English. Load is reduced to only two courses per year during the first two years.

The annual salary will be around 29,162,000 Chilean Pesos (CLP) (approximately US 44,000 or EU 38,000). The selected candidate can also apply to a starting funding of 8,000,000 CLP (approximately US 12,000 or EU 10,500) of the Academic Insertion, to be used during the first three years.
