We are looking for two postdoctoral researchers to work on various topics related to the analysis of complex high-dimensional data. Topics of interest include but are not limited to new directions in high-dimensional statistics, statistical learning for non i.i.d. data, change-point detection, deep learning, and stochastic gradient descent. The positions are for one year, with a gross yearly salary of 35,000 eur.
The scope is ample and allows for sub-projects related to mathematical statistics and statistical learning theory, Bayesian statistics, theory of neural networks, and Malliavin calculus. The primary supervisors are Eulalia Nualart and Lorenzo Cappello. Collaborations with Christian Brownlees, Gábor Lugosi, David Rossell, Piotr Zwiernik, and other professors of the Statistics group at UPF (https://sites.google.com/view/stats-upf) and the BSE Data Science Center (https://datascience.bse.eu) are possible.
Interested candidates should send an updated CV and a short research statement to Lorenzo Cappello (lorenzo.cappello@upf.edu). They should ask three referees to send a letter of reference on their behalf.
The deadline for the applications is October 31st, 2022.
