We are happy to announce the València International Bayesian Summer School (VIBASS.4) that will take place from 12 to 16 July 2021 in València (Spain). VIBASS4 can be followed either on-site or on-line.
VIBASS.4 is a 5-day summer school that offers an introduction to Bayesian learning without requiring previous knowledge in the subject.
The five days of VIBASS.4 are organised in three parts:
1) Monday 12 and Tuesday 13 include a basic course on Bayesian learning (12 hours), with conceptual sessions and practical sessions with R packages. It would be advisable that participants bring their laptops for the practical sessions.
2) Wednesday 14 and Thursday 15 is dedicated to an issue of current interest in Bayesian research. This edition is dedicated to Integrated nested Laplace approximation (INLA), with an introduction to the general methodology and the R-INLA package. This 12 hours course is provided by Håvard Rue and Janet van Niekerk (King Abdullah University of Science and Technology, KAUST, Saudi Arabia).
3) Friday 16 is the last day of the school. It is devoted to the Fourth VIBASS Workshop. We will have two plenary sessions with invited speakers Paula Moraga (King Abdullah University of Science and Technology, KAUST), and David Rosell (Universitat Pompeu Fabra, Spain). Attendees of the school are encouraged to present their research in an informal brainstorming as well as in a poster session.
VIBASS.4 is organized by the VAlència BAyesian Research group, VABAR research group and supported by Universitat de València, Biomathematics and Statistics Scotland (BioSS), and La Recherche Agronomique por le Dévelopment (CIRAD).
