It is time to start thinking about invited sessions for JSM 2019 to be held July 27 – August 1 in Denver, Colorado.  The Section on Bayesian Statistical Sciences (SBSS) and the International Society for Bayesian Analysis (ISBA) are jointly soliciting proposals for invited sessions. The selection of invited session proposals is a competitive process due to the limited number of slots.

The theme of JSM 2019 is “Statistics: Making an Impact“ but sessions need not necessarily adhere to this theme.  Invited sessions include invited papers, panels, or posters.  Invited paper sessions consist of 2-6 presenters and/or discussants; invited panels have 3-6 panelists providing commentary on a particular topic; invited poster sessions have 20-30 participants with e-posters addressing a common theme.  Proposals need to be submitted via the online system between July 18 – September 6, 2018. Please see the instructions on the web for more guidance on invited session proposal preparation and submission.

Program chairs Robert Gramacy (SBSS) and Mahlet Tadesse (ISBA) will work closely together to make sure all Bayesian-themed proposed sessions have the best chance of being selected for the invited program.  With this in mind, they may assign SBSS or ISBA as the primary sponsor independently of whether SBSS or ISBA was indicated in the submitted proposal as the session sponsor.

We look forward to your proposals!
