The Department of Decision Sciences at Bocconi University (Milan, Italy) invites applications from outstanding candidates for a tenure-track Assistant Professor position in Statistics. We welcome applicants with research interests in any area of Statistics, Machine Learning, or Probability.
The successful candidate is expected to develop a publication record of the highest standards, contribute to the department’s academic life, and teach effectively at both the undergraduate and graduate levels.
They will also be affiliated to the Bocconi Institute for Data Science and Analytics, which is Bocconi’s hub for theoretical and applied research on data-driven problems.
Applicants should hold, or be close to completing, a Ph.D. in a relevant field and demonstrate high research potential.
The preferred start date is September 2026; a February 2027 start is also possible, with additional flexibility in exceptional cases.
Compensation and teaching load are competitive with those of other leading European schools.
