Section on Biostatistics and Pharmaceutical Statistics
The aim of this section is to network and federate all the ISBA initiatives related to biostatistics pharmacological statistics, as well as to bridge academia and industry in this regard.
Section on Bayesian Computation
The purposes of this section are as multifaceted as the aspects of Bayesian computation, including promoting original research into computational methods for inference and decision making, encouraging the use of frontier computational tools among practitioners, the development of adapted software, languages, platforms, and dedicated machines, and translating and disseminating among statisticians methods developed in other disciplines.
Section on Economics, Finance, and Business
This section aims to (i) promote research in Bayesian methods in economics, finance and business, by organising conferences, workshops, and sessions in other meetings; (ii) promote education in Bayesian methods in economics, finance and business by developing short-courses for students and practitioners; and (iii) promote academic-industry interactions and outreach to the economics, finance, and business professions.
Section on Bayesian Education Research, and Practice
The aim of this section is to promote education and research on teaching and learning of Bayesian statistics and statistical literacy at all levels and for any audience, including the ISBA governance, management in business and government, working professionals such as lawyers and medical personnel, policy makers, K-12 educators, and academic non-statisticians.
Section on Environmental Sciences
The section’s goals include facilitating the exchanges between Bayesian statisticians operating in different environmental sciences and enabling a connection point for the field experts who recognize the potential of Bayesian approach but are not skilled in this discipline.
Section on Industrial Statistics
The primary purpose of this section is to promote research in Bayesian methods in industrial statistics by organizing conferences, workshops, and sessions in other meetings. Other purposes of the section include promoting use of Bayesian methods among industrial statisticians and practitioners by developing short courses and increasing ISBA membership among industrial statisticians.
Junior-ISBA (j-ISBA) Section
Members of this section must be students or within 5 years of having completed their degree. The section aims to (i) promote and provide a forum for early career Bayesian researchers; (ii) organize conferences, workshops, and sessions at statistical meetings; and (iii) provide social networking tools for early career Bayesian researchers in order to discuss research, exchange ideas with each other, and connect with the broader Bayesian community.
Section on Bayesian Nonparametrics
The purpose of this ISBA Section is to promote research in Bayesian nonparametric inference by organizing workshops and sessions in other meetings.
Section on Objective Bayes
The purpose of the section is to promote research in objective Bayesian inference by organizing workshops and sessions in other meetings.
