ISBA 10/ Valencia 9 Student Video Competition: This competition provides the opportunity for PhD students to promote their research by making a short video aimed at undergraduate students interested in a career in statistics. The winner will receive USD$750 funding to attend the 2010 ISBA World Meeting/Ninth Valencia Conference. To enter, a PhD student first needs to write an abstract (maximum 300 words) about her/his research. Shortlisted entries will then be invited to make a 3-5 minute video. Submitted videos will be judged by a panel of ISBA members. Currently, the student video competition panel is reviewing video submissions, and they are expected to make a final decision by the end of February. |
