ACADEMIC POSITIONS AVAILABLE
The Department of Statistics, Pontificia
Universidad Católica de Chile announces the
opening of two tenure-track position at the
Assistant Professor level, beginning the second
semester of 2012, one of them being financed by
MECESUP PUC0802 CD158. At the time of starting
the job, candidates should have a doctoral degree
in Statistics or a related field obtained at a
good standing institution. Appointees will be
expected to pursue a vigorous research program
and to teach three undergraduate/graduate courses
in Spanish (after some training if required). The
teaching load is reduced to only 2 courses per
year during the first two years. For exceptional
candidates there is a possibility of been
appointed at the Associate Professor level.
The Department of Statistics is a leading
research group in Latin-America and offers
undergraduate, Master's and a Ph.D. degree in
Statistics. The Pontificia Universidad Católica
de Chile is a highly selective institution and
its students are among the top 5% in the country.
