Postdoctoral Associate in statistics at the Five-College consortium (Amherst, Hampshire, Mount Holyoke, and Smith Colleges and the University of Massachusetts Amherst). Duties include teaching one course per semester at the liberal arts colleges, research at UMass, and consulting throughout the Five Colleges. Three years. Ideal for a new PhD to explore careers in large and small academic institutions.

The Department of Mathematics and Statistics (www.math.umass.edu) invites applications for two tenure-track positions in Mathematics and Statistics at the Assistant Professor level, subject to the availability of funds. The search will encompass the following areas: Algebra and Number Theory, Algebraic Geometry and Representation Theory, Analysis and Partial Differential Equations, Applied and Computational Mathematics, Differential Geometry and Topology, Probability, and Statistics. Exceptional promise in research and a commitment to outstanding teaching at all levels of the curriculum are expected. A Ph.D. in mathematics, statistics, or a related field is required.
