ISBA Forums Frequently Asked Questions

Before requesting help: please make sure that you can login to the ISBA membership System and check your email subscriptions under My Account.

  1. How do I unsubscribe from a forum email list?  Login to the ISBA website, by entering you username and password in the boxes in the left-hand navigation menus.  Click on the "My Account" link, then select Forum/email integration. Uncheck all forums for which you wish to unsubscribe, then Save. 

  2. How do I receive Forum posts by email?

    To receive Forum posts by email, login as above and click on the "My Account" link,
    then select Forum/email integration. Check all forums for which you wish to receive/post email messages, then Save. Each forum has instructions on how to create topics/reply to threads . Please review the posting guidelines before posting.

  3. I posted a message, but my post was cut off.
    Do not include dashes  "--" to separate sections of a post; the software interpretes "--" as the beginning of a signature which is automatically removed.
  4. I can view a forum, but I cannot create a new topic online.  For public forums, new topics must be submitted by email to the forum address and must be approved before they are "published". 
  5. I posted a question by sending an email to the forum address, but the message did not appear in the forum.  Your post must be approved before it is published for all public forums.  Please check with the webmaster@bayesian.org if this is urgent.
  6. I can view the forums, post topics, but I do not seem to receive any announcements by email.  See Receiving/Sending Posts by email to make sure that you have subscribed to the forums.  If you are subscribed, but still do not receive posts by email check your spam folder (particularly if you use gmail).  You may have to add the forum email addresses to your contacts.

Business Forum FAQs

  1. I do not see the ISBA-Business Forums. You must first login to access the ISBA Business forums. ISBA Business forums are limited to current members of ISBA committees; please check that your dues are up-to-date.  Board members and other appointments must be current members of ISBA. 
  2. I do not see my post in the forum.  Make sure that the email address for submitting posts is the same as your email that is registered with your ISBA account.  You may register additional email addresses under My Account/Forum Email Integration.
  3. My email address is registered under the Forum/email integration, but my post still does not appear.
    Please check that your ISBA membership is up-to-date or contact us member-info@bayesian.org with a description of the problem.
  4. I did not get a copy of my post by email.

    If you create a new topic or reply to a post by email, your post will be recorded in the forum and is sent to all members who have "opted in" for email distribution, however, you will not receive a copy of it.
