You can reach Hamilton Island from the main land by air or sea.
BY AIR:
Flights operate daily to Hamilton Island from Brisbane, Sydney and Melbourne. Flights from Adelaide operate via Brisbane, Sydney or Melbourne.
Jetstar flies directly to Hamilton Island from Brisbane, Sydney and Melbourne. Flights from Adelaide have to go via Melbourne, Sydney or Brisbane. An alternative option is to fly to Proserpine, catch a coach to Shute Harbour and then a ferry to Hamilton Island. Jetstar operates daily flights from Brisbane to Proserpine.
Virgin Blue flies daily to Hamilton Island and Proserpine
from Brisbane. There are several flights every day to
Brisbane from other major cities. If flying to Proserpine,
you need to catch a coach to Shute Harbour and then a
ferry to Hamilton Island.
Island Air flies daily from Proserpine, Mackay and Airlie
Beach to Hamilton Island.
BY SEA:
You can catch a ferry to the island
(or even sail your own yacht and berth at the marina!)
BY LAND:
Coaches service the Whitsunday area and can take you to Shute
Harbour to catch the ferry to Hamilton Island. McCaffertys & Whitsunday Transit Coach service this area.
