Nominations are now being accepted for the 2009 DeGroot Prize. Deadline for nomination submissions is 10 December 2009. Details follow.
The 2009 DeGroot Prize will be awarded in recognition of a published book in statistical science. Candidates for the Prize will be judged on the extent to which the book represents an important, timely, thorough and notably original contribution to the statistics literature, whether textbook or monograph. The Prize consists of an award of $1500 and a commemorative plaque. The winner will be announced at a major Bayesian meeting in the following year.
Eligible books for the 2009 DeGroot Prize must be published within the six year period ending 31 December 2009 (i.e. after 1 January 2004) and written in English. A book may be nominated by any of its authors or by any ISBA or SBSS member. A nomination consists of the following:
Shortly after the 10 December 2009 deadline, the DeGroot Prize Committee will be appointed. At that point, all nominees will be required to have copies of their nominated books sent, by a specified date, to every member of the DeGroot Prize Committee.
